They better be real real careful with those nerfs. If they nerf enough out of the top tier characters you will see another mass exodus of players, and I will be one of them. If the nerfs mean I have to play longer in PvE screw it I am done. Devs be warned. I have built a roster that has worked to maximize the best characters over many years to not play as long and earn easy rewards.

I seem to be the only one down on the vaults so far. My reasons being the 5*s aren't who I had hoped for. I can wait for another vault. Yes I am assuming that multiple vaults will drop again and if I'm wrong no biggie. Master supports, always good obviously, just had hoped they gave us an update in the road map about supports. LLs, I've got one of my biggest hoards ever because of ascension, so again I'll wait for another vault.
Normally I'd have cleared the 56 item vault out everyday it runs, but with all the uncertainty going forward it's easy to sit it out. They're not bad vaults, they just aren't for me.

How many times does Lucy have to pull the football away before Charlie brown learns to stop trying to kick it?

Imo that tells you a lot about how much hp people have on hand.

It's amazing how they keep doing it, despite a decade of evidence.
"Surely this time they won't nerf the overpowered guys!"

394k...are you sure it doesn’t reset? I'm in the EST so if I cleared the vault right now, the costs would reset at midnight(2.5 hrs from now).

Probably there will be a way to earn those tokens, so if you clear it out you'll be able to pull any extra ones as post-event (much better than pulling from the vault).

Ok, now I see that there isn't a reset button to begin with. That's disappointing.

I'm with ya on post event pulls, much more preferable.

My expectations were low and I don’t expect to be wowed, exactly, by Anniversaries. And things are just getting started. But the fact that there’s no cp store at all so far is kind of weird compared to last year when we had a different Fan Favorite one every week.
I know lots of vets scoffed at them because they have 550d those 5s etc but there are still players looking for opportunities to hit stores with 5% odds of strong older characters.
Although I suppose they should at least tell us if 5s will be ascendable before putting up stores where you might be be building a dupe.
In any case I’m sitting on my cp for now since there isn’t even an enticing place to use it.

I didn't mind the dupe cp store because if it had shang and thor I would burn through HP converting those covers. But nothing.

There are other teams that can do this (somebody posted a WILD combo with Spider-Man India awhile back that I'd never thought of). I think there may be even more to be discovered, with ascension now in play. The AoE+ double booster combo will probably be dead when they upgrade cl10 difficulty though -- it only works now because the enemy health is low enough to wipe the whole fight.
The SM: India combo takes a fairly high level ascended one (for reference, mine is 485 or so), otherwise he's only good for first 2-3 hard node clears. For pure utility though he's probably my next target... you know, assuming I stick around long enough lol, have to see how all these changes play out.

The thing though is that leveraging those OP characters until they're nerfed puts you in the position (resource-wise) to then be able to jump on the next OP character. The only real downside is if you're like that guy in 'Over The Top' and literally put every single thing you have into developing a single character. There is always a next best character to put work into between OP releases as well.
I think the real question this time is how wide the nerfs go, not exactly who gets hit.

Its not the wrong strategy by the player. Its the wrong approach to balancing the game by the devs (many other posts over the years have addressed this on the forums). I am ok with individual nerfs here and there, but a blanket statement that they are going to address several of the top used characters is the concern here. I have played the game for 11+ years and usually nerfs have targeted one or two characters, never a whole tier like the dev post seemed to indicate. For me, I don't want to have to spend more time playing the game, the nerfs potentially threaten that I may need to or just accept less rewards for the same time invested, that is what my focus is on. I have already been on the fence with the poor Unity rollout for quite some time, this would be the tipping point for me individually. The number one resource in this game is time (QoL). It is an indictment of this game that spending $ on it doesn't really help you save time either, usually it is so incremental it cannot even be quantified with one purchase (unless you are a new player of course, then it may be more meaningful). If I spent $100 today on the game, it wouldn't impact my gameplay roster with any significance, increase my in-game resources significantly or save me any meaningful time.

They've been really vague about what they're going to do with the nerfs, so I'm not sure it's worth worrying about it in advance. Fwiw I don't believe they are going to nerf all the top characters at once, just because they've never done anything like that before. I expect 1-2 changes max, although I do wonder if they'll hit the Kang passive too.
I do think more changes are needed and I'd prefer more changes, but a lot of changes have been needed for a long time and they haven't bothered. Rebalancing is work and they aren't very good at that.
It's absolutely an indictment that spending money doesn't do much when you're at the top tier. They need to sell more stuff that gives us serious advantages.

I'm sure the incredible amount of time it would take factors into it to. There are what, 350+ characters now in the game.
Let's say they decided to rebalance (and by that I mean not just take a dusty old 5s health/match to modern numbers, but actually go through the power set too and for 4s and below also the ascended versions) 1 character every 2 weeks (the same pace as new releases so we got the rebalance in the off-week). That would be an incredible pace of rebalances never before seen in the game given we are lucky to get 2-3 a year. But at this incredible pace it would still be only 26 characters a year which means it would take something like 13 years to get through all the characters. It's just got to be daunting for them to even consider attempting it because they let it go for so long.
IMHO, if they do take up this kind of thing, they should limit to characters released in the last 4 years and anything older they should just mark as 'vintage' and use at own risk. That would at least get it down to 100 characters so they could finish in 4 years by which time they'd have 4 years of new releases to rebalance. LOL.
It's absolutely an indictment that spending money doesn't do much when you're at the top tier. They need to sell more stuff that gives us serious advantages.
They did with supports. Yet everyone complained about a certain supports in PvP and now those are currently banned. So it has to literally be stuff on offense only (ie like boosts) which limits what they can offer.
