Strange Sights is bugged. The devs are aware and working on fixing it. They'll probably have to restart the event like last time this happened.

It sucks that they were not helped in the transition.

Don’t think much on the new Season Pass rewards!

This is why they need to do another rewrite.

The players and The Devs are just this right now:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpQFFLBMEPIBUT we can learn to love again! And yes, when I think of the Devs I do picture them as a floating TV.

This. Is. Never. Happening. (Ok, I have been wrong before so maybe there's like a 0.00001% chance)
They pulled the game internally to reduce labor costs. We as a community have shown them a remarkable tolerance for bugs and errors and broken things, spending nearly the same amount throughout 2025 of money before as after Unity after things fell about 40% or so from 2024.
The sheer volume of work to rewrite the whole game when they chose to just port the old code into Unity is obviously not something they find palatable. They'd have to radically increase the staff time to basically code the game from scratch and they are already prepping a new Puzzle Quest game for 2027. You have to assume they don't have any extra staff to put onto the 12 year old game that has already pushed a huge chunk of players away and has little growth opportunity given its age etc.
They may "need" to rewrite it but they won't. It doesn't make sense to invest that time and money.

A full rewrite (again! A re-rewrite?) would just introduce a different set of bugs. We'd trade one set of broken stuff for different broken stuff, and they'd have to start fixing from scratch again. I won't say it's not going to happen (because somebody made the decision to do it the first time), but one would hope they've learned their lesson.
It's kind of funny really, because reading here and other places in the community, someone saying "we have shown a remarkable tolerance for bugs and errors and broken things" would be insane! Everybody here is super upset about all this stuff!
But... everybody is still here complaining about it, and they're still making money. I don't think there's anything they can screw up, at this point, that will force the remaining players to quit or stop spending.

I dunno, I’ve decided to spend less myself.
Realized VIP was a waste to keep auto-renewing. Maybe I’ll buy a super cheap thing if PvE ever comes back and I want bonus rewards.
This little break is making me reevaluate some things.

Players here keep saying this sort of stuff, and most have been saying it since Unity.

There are 2 parts to the game. The App (game on PC) we interface with and the back end server stuff where all the data is stored for PvE/PvP events, rosters, all the data they collect etc.
A full re-write would be both parts. My guess is the new development studio will just rewrite one part (which ever part they have the most expertise in since that then makes them very familiar with that part since they will then have written it in house rather than inherit it).

Was going to join the event at my usual start time, but the game instead provided these very odd start times...

My understanding is that the IP2 dev team is based in Australia, so maybe they were confused about the localized times. However, it still doesn't explain why the extra 10 minutes were added to the hour?
As it appears now, (all times are shown in Pacific):
S1 (8:10 PM) started in the time slot which was S4 (+ 10 minutes)
S2 (1:10 AM) starts an an irregular time (i.e., it doesn't align to the usual time slots)
S3 (6:10 AM) starts an an irregular time (i.e., it doesn't align to the usual time slots)
S4 (12:10 PM) starts an an irregular time (i.e., it doesn't align to the usual time slots)
S5 (3:10 PM) starts an an irregular time (i.e., it doesn't align to the usual time slots)For reference, the usual time slots are:
S1 starts at 4:00 AM Pacific / 7:00 AM Eastern / 12:00 PM GMT
S2 starts at 9:00 AM Pacific / 12:00 PM Eastern / 5:00 PM GMT
S3 starts at 2:00 PM Pacific / 5:00 PM Eastern / 10:00 PM GMT
S4 starts at 8:00 PM Pacific / 11:00 PM Eastern / 4:00 AM GMT
S5 starts at 11:00 PM Pacific / 2:00 AM Eastern / 7:00 AM GMT0 -

The end times will not change.
Pick your least worst option, or don’t play, I guess.
1 -
Very hard to play when timer in the node shows +3 hours to full points and then the next 5 minutes the node just ends with half of the node unplayed.
2 -
No new events today?

Unstable ISO-8 is there with the same essentials and rewards as Strange Sights, but it has the normal start/end times.

Perhaps a 1-day break for a Boss event on Thursday? Who knows, baby steps lol
