My biggest problem with the game currently is the lack of new content. Pve is a repeat loop of the same six to eight events. After time the burn out factor is high. I can deal with that.
But PVP has become the same thing. Constant 3* events in a loop. Over 300 characters in the game and play the same character events.
Here comes Iron May and 3* Hulk and Gabby. Which we just had.
C’mon devs. Can we take the auto event picker off and have some more variety in our PVP lives to offset the constant repeat grind from PVE???0 -
There are like 15-16(?) different pves so a rotation takes about 8 weeks, but the bosses add a week. But of course they get old after a while. Supposedly we were going to get new pves with Unity…..well, it’s been 5 1/2 months and I suspect the odds of a new story-driven pve are extremely small because the staff is smaller now than before.
There are 75 3s so a rotation takes 25 weeks but they also have the new character pves and occasionally a theme month means they’ll run some 4* ones or something.
I agree it’s nice to see different characters in the middle. Back in July Ice said they were thinking about new pvps but I suspect they also are back burnered because of staffing issues due to falling revenue.
If you go spend like $200k+ more a month they might do these things though, if they can hire more people again.
Joking aside their apparent dismissal of QA staff makes implementation of new events a fraught proposition.

There may be 15-16 Pve events, but we don’t see them all. It’s roughly the same MAYBE 8-10.
And the only time we get any other characters besides 3s are new releases that nobody has covered.
I know you and the other five guys that constantly comment on here in every post keep up on things, so when was the last three pvp events that weren’t 3 characters or new releases? I’m really curious.0 -
They should have changed the CLs in PvP like how they did in PvE.
Leave CL 1-8 as they are now (using mostly 3 stars as the essential other than new releases) and made CL9 use a 4 star as an essential and CL10 a 5 star as an essential. This would give players (who qualified for CL10) 3 choices for their PvP essential based on which one they wanted to use.
And yes, I am aware you battle players outside your CL in PvP, that too would have to change.

Honestly I stopped tracking things in general and just refer to the forum for thing generally.
I haven’t checked for this past year, but usually they run some 4* pvps in June due to Pride Month, so that would be the last time.
Honestly I agree they haven’t run anything except standard 3* pvps for months at least.
I don’t know if they have a plan to expand what they run or if they even have the capacity to do it. They did make the Tower so there’s at least some interest in making new things. PVP might be harder to justify work on because it’s always going to be the less played mode. This is probably doubly true with pve getting harder and taking more time.

The time to make the first change was before ascension, when we were forced to drag around a useless 3*. Ascension actually fixed this -- you can turn the essentials into 5* and have them contribute something. Moving to (natural) 5* PvP would make them all useless again.
They can't make it so that CL factors into matchmaking, without wholesale changes elsewhere. It'd be way too easy to run out of fights, since shields exist and so do time slices. If they remove one or the other of those then...maybe, but I'm not sure that'd go over well.

The last new PVE story event was in 2021, right? Black Widow? That’s a long time to have no new content for the most played aspect of the game.
And PVP would be hard to improve on because the format for the entire game is static. The only thing easily changeable is the events.
(IMO if someone wanted to “fix” PVP, start by removing supports AND boosted characters. Level the field completely. And then tweak Sam.)0 -

I personally wouldn’t say the playing field is level at all when a boosted 1a5 can one shot a boosted 5* character.
But I’m not arguing with anyone. Especially as cynical and rude as you have been lately, man.
Now, let me go hit up some pvp and skip max level Juggs and Sam teams for a bit to find a good match. (And some 1a5 Widow and Hawkeye boosted teams.)0 -

- Venom Bomb
- Strange Sights
- Cosmic Chaos
- Lost in Time
- The Hunt
- Webbed Wonder
- Fight For Wakanda
- Meet Rocket & Groot
- Operation SpiderSilk
- Infinite Pursuit
- Unstable ISO
- Deadpool vs MPQ
- Simulator
- Honor Among Thieves
- Thick As Thieves (1-15 were in order with 2 boss events also included, going back to 9/22 for this event)
- Hearts of Darkness (back on 8/21, so there were 7 events previously listed that were replayed between 15 and 16)
So in general, we get almost 2 full months between repeated events. And the 3 events we don’t replay are ISO-8 Brothers and The Hulk one and Enemy of the State (all 3 are 7 day events I’m pretty sure).

Even with ascension you are still using the same 40ish characters for PvP over and over even if they are ascended to 5 star level. The best teams for these have mostly been figured out. If they want to get the other 300+ characters in the game see more action they need to be in the PvP rotation.
It's the same complaint as the one about a stagnant PvE with the same events over and over.

And once again, no. I don’t feel the playing field is level at all in PvP. Between the imbalance that the ascension system has caused, supports, and the broken MMR system it feels way out of kilter.
Not to mention the boosted system.
BUT, I’m not a max roster and don’t log hundreds of matches per event. So, maybe that’s why we have a difference of opinion. Idk. But it’s good that opinions aren’t wrong. They just differ.

I don't understand what you mean though. 5* are 5*, regardless of what tier they started at. 672s should be roughly as good as each other and I don't think we're too far off of that currently. In general it's way harder to level up lower tier characters so I don't see why they should be treated differently to "natural" 5s.
Getting rid of the boosts (I assume you're referring only to the 5* boosts, because 4* and below have gotten weekly boosts since forever) would just mean every PvP fight was Sam/Juggernaut (or Nova/Hulk, once everyone catches up).
I suppose that actually would make it a "level playing field," since everyone would be running the same characters every event.
