    There is an argument for an additional in-game currency that can only be bought with real money. And you can use that to buy all the things you can currently only buy with cash. Or with the new engine, put a cost on everything to buy if people do wished (but with an escalation or cap mechanism).

    It shouldn't have exclusive stuff for sale but used for things like costumes where you can buy them with £€$ or you can wait for them to turn up in a vault in 6 months. So it's early access, not exclusive. Same could go for giving out "swap tokens" - you could get 50 free a month if you bought the VIP level.

    Spenders can then spend, pay to win is capped, but spending is incentivized in the right way and players see no difference but better options.
