We made it to page 4 on Boss Rush before the comments about difficulty are hitting...there are 41 pages! Hoo boy...

Calls to cancel the event on page 5 - our old buddy slidecage!

Looks like the Mods had been busy, 6 other threads got locked according to a post on page 6! However the forum is rallying and has for the rest of this page abandoned complaining and embraced coming up with teams to win!

Page 11 and David [Hi-fi] Moore (remember him?) has had to come on board to deal with sweaty ranting!

Poor David has made things worse, now he is being attacked for saying he is giving feedback to see if adjustments can be made!

Galactus first run “you are supposed to lose!” Ah yes in the days when I used to have the animation on

Boss rush I thankfully cannot remember much of

I wonder if the lack of a calendar and regular communication is why people think it’s the worst ever

Social media (including this forum) rewards the most extreme takes, which is why everything now is either the best or the worst ever.

Rewards how? (Honestly - I really don’t use any social media except this forum, so am ignorant)

Trying to TLDR: social media is obviously open to everyone to post etc. The noise is beyond measure. The only way to expect more attention (if that's your desired outcome from posting) is to get more likes and reposts etc which tends to mean staking out an extreme position to stand out from the other 1000 people who called Politician X a lying SOB, so you call him a corrupt thief who has bad hair that makes you want to vomit.

Social media is imposing a ratchet effect on the discourse surrounding our culture and politics resulting in constant anger and hatred and violence, and it's a cancer that should be either cut out or at least curtailed in a significant manner. If we actually care to address societal problems and not just try to leech off of them for personal attention and wealth.

I don't necessarily disagree with you on the social media thing, but I see it as more of an individual problem than anything systemic.

What I mean is, social media, much like the internet itself, is a tool like any other tool - it all comes down to how a person chooses to use it. You know, like how a hammer can be used to create or destroy depending on your intention. Social media/the internet can be a great tool to educate, to communicate, to use for entertainment, or share new ideas. On the other hand, it can also be used to deceive, to manipulate, to spam or scam, and a zillion other terrible things. So the web is not inherently cancerous, but too many of its users are using it in a toxic fashion.

The one-upmanship is a big part of this, as you mentioned, the way some people seemingly need to be more outrageous than the last person. When getting those 'likes', that social currency, is more important than just being a regular person, the whole concept of being polite, or patient, or even being willing to consider another person's viewpoint just goes right out the window.

Of course, there's a lot of other factors in the mix, but I don't wanna get into that right now because I'm pretty sure we've veered off course and should let the conversation get back on the proper track. I'm just saying that it is too easy to blame a thing (like videogames, guns, credit cards, or the internet) for bad behavior, when there is typically a human hand that is actually responsible for how said thing was used. And some people suck, so what are you gonna do?

I just hope it doesn't get worse before it gets better...

Y'know fair play to MPQ of many years ago, they are beating this thing with 3* She Hulk not whining how Polaris getting nerfed means the end of the world! God help me though...another 20 pages to get through?!?! Gotta channel my inner 3* She Hulk...

I did boss rush with 3* Hulk, 3* Storm, and 3* Ms. Marvel.

Strategy: Hulk takes 1, maybe 2 hits. Generates green. Storm green to gather AP. Ms Marvel Purple to generate Green. Storm Green to gather AP. and on and on and on and on until the boss goes down. Then again for round 2!
