It's kind've bold to be upset you have nothing to spend your HP on when the reason you have it in the first place is because the game's MMR was bugged. The devs could easily say 'that was your gift' and it would be the most generous gift in the history of the game.Huh? Bugged MMR is not why I have HP at all. Saved lots from ascending, purchases, etc. Are you assuming everyone with hoarded HP is from bugged MMR?
I wasn't responding to you.
And no, I'm not assuming everyone is in that boat. But when someone randomly has 300k hero points and comes in here to complain about THIS Anniversary specifically, as if it is all that different from any of the previous anniversaries, I feel pretty safe in my assumptions.

I spend money on this game. Played PVP some when it was bugged but I don’t particularly enjoy PvP, so I didn’t have the energy to take advantage of it. I have had a “lot” since the start of the year. Now I have more, not tons more, but more. The reason I have what I have is because I don’t feel any incentive to spend the HP I get from purchases, my toon farms, etc.

Was there any Doop code till now?
Edit: also, was there anything else than downward escalator mode?
This anniversary suxx!0 -
I haven't decided if this anniversary is worse then previous years, or if just don't need what's being offered as much as I once would have.

I've been trying to figure out the best way to describe how I feel about this Anniversary, and all I can come up with is 'meh'.Granted, the good vibes were already in deficit due to the whole Unity "transition" that was as disorienting as a ride on a scrambler. While I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt that they did what they could to put out the ensuing fires, the sheer volume and intensity made this an impossible task - and the embers are still smoldering as we speak.
Still, they could have taken the opportunity to distract from the chaos by dropping a stellar Anniversary event, leading into some wicked Halloween festivities, and giving community morale the shot in the arm it most certainly needed. But that's not what happened...
Instead, it feels like business as usual. Here's a new character, yay. Here's their better-looking costume, woohoo. Here's something we are calling a new mode, but it's just the same stuff as always - only now it's at an angle. Color me excited. Here's a vault with some cool stuff in it, but nothing too awesome though. Whoop-tee-fudging-doo.
None of this feels special, almost like they really didn't have anything planned for the occasion, so they just got us something at the gas station on the way home from work. Like they could give two sheets about it, but the calendar demanded they acknowledge it, so they slapped a "Happy Anniversary" sticker on everything and went back to whatever the hail they were doing.
It feels phoned-in, lackluster, uninspired, ho-hum, (you get the idea...). I'm almost to the point where I can't wait for it to be over already, because it is so terribly mediocre.
Just one big 'meh'.
Best comment on the anniversary by far. Sums up how everyone feels. I also felt this was the devs golden opportunity to really make this anniversary special because of all the **** everyone has been through since unity, but instead of making this a special event for those who have loyally stuck with them, they went down looking at strike three down one run in the bottom of the ninth with a chance to win the World Series .
Not only were there no fan favorites stores, the lame vaults they did run they took away the opportunity to reset them.
Thanks for the WORST anniversary ever!0 -

Thanks for the WORST anniversary ever! Not even close to the worst Anniversary offers ever. This is the part I'm not getting.

When people keep saying it's the "worst ever" it actually undermines their point, because we have had some truly awful anniversaries.
I think what everyone means is "I am disappointed in this anniversary," but for whatever reason they keep saying "THIS ANNIVERSARY IS LITERALLY THE WORST THING THAT'S EVER HAPPENED TO ME" and it's just sorta hard to take that seriously.

Honestly I really remember the hate for Boss Rush (sorry Galactus first run was before my time). Also people are judging these vaults based upon Anniversary vaults that never existed. Those 5000HP reset ones were not Anniversary vaults.

Galactus first run “you are supposed to lose!” Ah yes in the days when I used to have the animation on
Boss rush I thankfully cannot remember much of
I wonder if the lack of a calendar and regular communication is why people think it’s the worst ever

You didn't have a choice. It's only in the past few years that they added the option to have them off at all.

I don't really mind the "you're supposed to lose" presentation.
I understood it as "You're supposed to hold out and chip away damage as part of a collective of players until (possibly) the uberboss goes down."
It seemed that players didn't like that a beefy roster wasn't going to win all the time.

Social media (including this forum) rewards the most extreme takes, which is why everything now is either the best or the worst ever.

It was a MUCH different game then. A "beefy" roster would have had most of the 3* at 13 covers. 4* existed but they were mostly worse than 3*. There were no champions. My team managed to clear it using 3* Hulk, Storm, and Loki.

One thing this anniversary is missing that I’m reasonably sure the past two had is a series of lightning vaults. I can’t remember for sure how frequently they ran but they had, I think, 24 hour vaults - some using iso or cp and most with hp - with various items, and they seemed to be happening a lot.
Anyway it was nice to have various options to use your resources on and it made things feel a bit more special.

I am pretty sure there was a 24 hour ISO vault early in the anniversary.

Rewards how? (Honestly - I really don’t use any social media except this forum, so am ignorant)

Reinforces is probably a more apt description

Trying to TLDR: social media is obviously open to everyone to post etc. The noise is beyond measure. The only way to expect more attention (if that's your desired outcome from posting) is to get more likes and reposts etc which tends to mean staking out an extreme position to stand out from the other 1000 people who called Politician X a lying SOB, so you call him a corrupt thief who has bad hair that makes you want to vomit.
Social media is imposing a ratchet effect on the discourse surrounding our culture and politics resulting in constant anger and hatred and violence, and it's a cancer that should be either cut out or at least curtailed in a significant manner. If we actually care to address societal problems and not just try to leech off of them for personal attention and wealth.

I'm just reading the thread again and very first comment mentions the rewards on offer almost being a slap in the face! The event hadn't even started!
