Disabled PVP Supports

The following supports have been disabled in all PVP events and will be reintroduced in the future once we've had a chance to rebalance them.

  1. Leapfrog (Amphibious Transport)
  2. FantastiCar (Four Seater)
  3. Eros's Arrow (Lovestruck)
  4. Thanos-Copter (Villainous Vehicle)

Additionally, PVP Lightning Rounds should have ALL SUPPORTS disabled. The recent enabling of supports in Unity was unintended and we do not have future plans to enable them in Lighting Rounds in the future.

Quick update:
For the events that are already made like Elsa's Ray Gun Madness, the supports are still in there, but all PVP events in the near future should have them disabled. I believe Quicksilver & Spider Rex will have them enabled since I see their event info in my tracker.

Aw man, I already wrote all that stuff on that other post about this.

I guess this is confirmation though!

I for one would like to have supports disabled in ALL PVP events, even though i have some of the better ones. It is extremely annoying having those supports giving free ap at start.

Don't they have enough issues going on with the Unity upgrade? Why mess with this right now?

    I am 100% asking for a rebalance.

There are plenty of us who invested a lot of time and resources in to those supports, and had I known you were just going to take away the place they are most valuable, I would have invested in others.

Damn that's crazy. I have them all at r5.
So I wasted time and resources going after them.
    R5'ing 4 supports takes quite a while...what a shame.
I'm sure it'd just be easier to remove supports from PvP.

So when does this go into effect for all pvp? Leapfrog is still currently usable in mystique pvp and I sure can't wait to no longer have to use or face it.

Disabling these for PvP makes no sense tho. It's not like they're used for PvE. It would just be better to do away with supports in PvP all together.

There are plenty of ways they can be balanced, even if it's specifically for pvp

Leapfrog - Just needs to make the invis a set amount of turns rather than a CD tile that can be crammed into a corner.

Eros Arrow - Needs to be put out at the START of that character's turn, so that if the enemy team gets rid of it it's gone.

Fantasticar - I think the 4 turn limit is fine honestly, and thematic! But you can also limit it and copter to just 1 additional match a turn or something. Maybe 2 at r5?

Thanoscopter - Same as above. I rarely run into a problem playing against the copter, but again, if people are against it heavily, just limit the extra rotations to 1~3 depending on rank.

I'm fine with rebalancing. The goal should be constant rebalancing of characters and supports through both nerfs and buffs. Ideally incremental so that they can then be adjusted again if the change isn't big enough without swinging wildly too far in the other direction. I do wonder why they opted to make this particular change at the same time as the MASSIVELY bugged launch of their new engine. Introducing new changes while trying to fix all of the things they broke with the launch seems like terrible timing. Fix things first so that the rollout for IOS, Android and Amazon aren't the massive dumpster fire that Steam has been and then circle back for the changes to supports. That way new bad interactions aren't being piled on to the things that Unity broke.

All Leapfrog needs is removing the invisible component at R3. Just have it reduce the big damage hit by a reasonable amount and do the burst heal.

I never really use the others so I can't comment on those.

As others have noted many of us have invested a lot into getting these to R5 (I have 2 of them there and another at R4 that will be R5 after the next boss event) so we definitely want these to come back to PvP after a rebalance.

I bet this was an accident. I think they were planning to do it eventually and it got rolled out early with some of the engine chaos.

Argh. Just got my thanos copter up to 4* the hard way and was working on 5. Guess I’ll pivot to something else.

Not cool. Do you have any idea how long it took most of us to bring these supports up to Level 5? We're talking years here.

Just finished getting Eros to R5 and already had Leapfrog and Fantasticar there already so great. Maybe if we had some new Supports to chase this might feel better than what will be a gigantic nerf. Despite the suggestions I don’t really see any useful way of rebalancing Frog that doesn’t mess with the point of it.

I'm ok with this, and I've built them all up to 5. Same as Sidewinder was, they make the game less fun to play but not massively and I'd never skip a team because of a support.

Lots of people complained about them and so it's a reasonable step to take.

Just an idea - rather than change the Support, I'd consider limiting the affiliations further. This will be a nerf of sorts of course but could also serve as a bit of a rebalance to traditionally weaker characters.
