Supports in LRs

Opponents keep popping up with supports equipped. I can't equip them myself, and honestly I don't want to. Not in the LRs, especially since it was the last place left untouched. Was really hoping the LRs would be spared but it seems they've fallen too.

I didn't see on my system. but maybe try a reboot the app and see if there after mystique lr

Tried that, still there. They don't appear to actually be active once in the match. My opponents leap frog never did its thing, same with thanos copter.
Maybe a glitch from the new engine rollout?

Seems like you're a mobile player going up against a Steam player whose Unity build allows them to equip supports.

I figured as much. Some additional info:
-only shows them on the pre match screen. Once in the match, if I click on the opponent character it shows them without the support.
-also, no banners go across the screen during the match.1 -
I'm on Steam and supports with AP gain on match start are triggering to give the AP. Low level AI drops strikes as well.

That's possible. I only play enough to get to 250 which usually means just one match against real opponents and they didn't have supports in the pre-game window earlier so probably not a Steam player. I'll keep looking and see if I can spot them active on defense.

Perhaps the "rules" are determined by the local build. So Steamers were seeing and able to use supports, and mobile players weren't.
I vaguely remember noticing supports in LRs but didn't think about it too hard, everything in game is nuts and random right now.

Well, another week, another run of LRs.
Can confirm that, as a Unity/Steam player, I can equip supports in LRs and yes they are working in match.
And yes, it looks like most other players, presumably Mobile/Old Engine players, do not have supports equipped.
Considering the mountain of hassle we are currently blessed with here in Unity Land, I will happily take this and the few other things broken in our favor.
If I hit anyone out there and they thing this is unfair ... well ... oh well. Just beat me like a piñata on sight.

This is a known issue that we're working on addressing. Requires a new build, but unfortunately was not able to get added to the current PC build that just released today.

Correct. We never intended Supports to be enabled in LRs.

People are still playing Lightning Rounds? I confess I never understood them or what purpose they served but I assume this is for Standard tokens for 1*? You beat all the Seed teams if you are lucky enough to be around when they start (not usually me) and then what? Is it bragging rights? Is there a secret society of Lightning Rounders (please say yes!)...it...it can't be the rewards??!? Is it some sort of Alliance punishment? Please enlighten me!

I play LR to get ISO and 1* tokens, all for the ascension. When going up, my ISO dries up pretty fast...

Lightning rounds remain one of the best sources for players to farm iso. If you join at the beginning and hit the seed teams as much as you can over the 48h you will see a steady stream of iso. This is mostly true for early players.
For vets the reason to hit the seed teams and keep going is if you have ascended 1* the covers you get are potentially 25cp, LT, 100-250hp, or thousand iso. So farming them is hardly as useless as it seems.
As for the Clandestine Knights of the Lightning Rounds? I’ll never tell!2 -

Well if you have a few min it's worth it to play the seeds, if you can catch them, plus one match to get the second token. You don't have to play on a clock to get the seeds, can open the LR near it's start time, then clear the seeds later if needed.
Experience varies from LR to LR, and I'm sure it varies from player to player. I have a strong roster, but not one that's at the top ... I don't rush 5s to 550 (I push the good ones but leave them in the 520s or so), I don't have any 3* LR features up to 5* land. In the deeper end of the roster pool, there's a small crowd all trying to do the same thing, win lots of matches as fast as possible, so absolutely hits come in. I don't coordinate with anyone, so it's free fire, hit and be hit.
IME, going back at least a year, maybe 2, if I decide to sit downand play a LR "fully", I can reach a respectable LR score, 400 -550, and MMR will break around 375 - 400. Yes, hits will come in, but I can usually maintain a score high enough to harvest covers for a while. Usually stop with 15-30min remaining, usually shield if I still have a highish score so people I have hit can get decent points hitting back. If don't shield, yes, absolutely I'll get pounded back down. The only time(s) I play to the last few minutes are the ones in the wee hours, if for some stupid reason I am up playing, when I should be sleeping.
IME, IMO, what has changed recently is the advent of 5* Sam Wilson. The meta LR teams had been the same for a long time, still lots of OR / Colossus. Now it's 4Juggs & Wilson nealy wall-to-wall, occasionally the counter, 4Thor / Polaris, and a small but growing group running at least one LR featured 3* pushed to high 5* levels. Prior to Wilson, the LR meta was more defensive (hiding behind Colossus), but now, it's all offense, a few meta teams, all of which have counters, a game of paper rock scissors.
No supports in LRs also tilts the meta toward offense, but also favors the attacker and keeps matches fast.
After I saw your question I decided to jump into the last LR of the wee, to make sure I'm not out of date or nuts ... and it played out as above. I keep a few current LR pairs saved: Wilson / Juggs (ofc...), Chasm / Black King, 4Thor / Polaris, BRB / Polaris. Old standby BRB / Polaris is for taking on the megaboosted 3>5s ... a good time, walking a tight rope ... but takes awhile, too slow for trying to break MMR. The only defense right now is having a megaboosted 3>5, not because they are unbeatable, but because it's a lot to chew through.
Anyway, the LR went as described above. I even started in late, 20+ min in, no seeds, but, blasting away, was able to get up to 400pts, MMR broke, was able to get 20 covers to drop playing quick matches, and shielded out with ~25min to go, IIRC. Yes, took several hits, and tons came in after I stopped.
I hope this helps, maybe others will chime in with their experience. I hope everyone is having productive (well ... MPQ "productive"

Please enlighten me!Lightning rounds are amazing for farming. If you join right at launch you get 8-10 seeds each of which can drop 1* and 2* covers. If you get to 250 you get 2 standard tokens which is another two easy 1* and sometimes 2* and even very rarely 3* covers. Finishing in the top 100 drops a heroic and finishing in the top 50 an additional heroic token. A mature roster can get all of that done in the last 7-9 minutes of the event. Pre-ascension they were pretty much just iso banks but post ascension they speed up your progress pushing to 550 which is a bunch of extra rewards.
