I really like Iron Man, he is so much fun! It makes me really sad we don't have any quests to do to earn some more shards for him.A valiant attempt to get this thread back on the rails Daz.Go on then, I’ll join you.
I find that the fact that we earn many extra 5 star shards through PvE progression now that it compensates for the loss of those ‘new character quests’, though I appreciate not everyone will be playing CL10.
I wonder if this is a conscious decision to make it less easy to fully cover new 5 star characters, so that those with less developed rosters might be more inclined to spend? As far as iron man goes I don’t dislike him. He has more team-combo flexibility than poor Silver Sable. Looking forward to finding some useful team comps once I get a few more covers for him.
P.S. the character indexing project is coming along decently in the background, and should make it much easier for folks to find useful character synergies.
I think I’ve even sussed how, where and why
Kang refunds ‘drained’ AP to the player. More on this ‘soon’TM.0 -

Kang refunds ‘drained’ AP to the player. More on this ‘soon’TM.True, I guess I could be being greedy. I actually have enjoyed firing his powers though so the quests wouldn't have been the usual chore. I champed Silver Sable and have used her but can't pretend to understand what is she does exactly, so synergies would be cool.
As for getting threads back on topic, I don't exactly have a great record for that, so if it happens it will be despite of me! In the meantime, take this imaginary bad guys in entrailbucket's head:

Yeah something doesn't add up. Your time isn't that valuable, obviously.
You cut off the rest. "Way too valuable to do things that aren't fun." Arguing with people on here is fun. Good try though!

I also 100% stopped spending any money on the game when it stopped being fun. If I play 25 minutes a day now, that's a lot. If they can't even be bothered to fix it when it's broken, or TALK to us on the official forum about it, they don't deserve it.
And this is insane behavior. If it's not fun why are you still spending your time on it? Is your time worth less than money? Is there no more fun activity you could be doing with your free time?
Because the time I spend on the toilet is not particularly valuable to me. It drives me crazy when people make arguments like this one. I can watch TV and play. I can sit on a toilet and play. I don't feel like there's a HUGE number of things that would drastically improve my day if I switched to them during that 20 minutes.
Because I don't view everything as what have you done for me lately. I've spent a lot of time here. I've spent a lot of time playing. My roster is loaded. I don't get the same satisfaction out of watching a movie I've seen 52000 times, but if Star Wars is on while I'm vacuuming, why turn the channel? If I don't enjoy hanging with a particular friend as much as I used to, I also don't ghost them. This isn't complicated philosophy.
And because games evolve. This game isn't what it was two years ago, which also wasn't what the game was two years before that. I can't know if things improve if I'm not playing at all. And I'm part of an alliance I would still like to be part of if the game does get fun again.
Imagine getting to the end of your life and reflecting on your deathbed:
"Sure, I wasted thousands of hours on my phone playing a toilet game for babies, but at least I hated every second of it!"
You can find something else to do. Why be angry while you poop? Read a book! Find a different game! An addiction is something that you continue to do after you stop enjoying it.
Also...if you don't like hanging out with someone anymore you should absolutely ghost them. If your job sucks you should quit. Loyalty is stupid, especially loyalty to fake online friends or to a game that's no fun. Enjoy your life.
"A toilet game for babies" but you need to win it soooooo much that you "hate" all and any competition? I'm starting to wonder if you are just an angry AI stuck on repeat, lol.
I don't get it. What's the gotcha there?
I enjoy playing the game right now.
I'm not waiting for some never-gonna-happen hypothetical future and hate-playing until then. Or carrying out some weird grudge against the developers by trying to outlast them or prove some point to them that they'll never see and don't care about anyway.
If it ever stopped being fun, for a second, I'd be gone. My time is far too valuable to do anything I don't enjoy.
It just seems that you describe the game in the most condescending way possible but then passionately defend it with your life, it's a weird contradiction. But enough of all that, you're having a good time, Iron Man has his enormous cannon back, things are just fine.
Yep.
Enjoying something that's silly doesn't magically make it not silly! If an adult enjoys something that's made for kids, that doesn't magically make it for adults. We are (all of us, INCLUDING me) arguing passionately about something that's truly worthless in the grand scheme of things.

There is a difference between "silly" and deliberately denigrating something, worthless or not. Attitudes have shifted since I was younger in terms of Superheroes only being for kids. I was a secret comic book fan from 1978 so I guess maybe I never really saw them just for kids (even though I am aware that the rest of the world did) but in 2025? Nah. My Sister-in-Law saw Infinity War and started a conversation with me about it! She had never even seen a Spider-Man comic, let alone read one. I can totally get behind you enjoying the game and being upset others are being negative about it but I can't quite grasp why you also seem to be ashamed of playing a game about superheroes.
Anyway, I seem to remember you aren't actually a fan from the comic books? If you ever want some suggestions to try I would be happy to recommend so you could get to know the source material better. Some of it is silly. Some of it is really silly. Maybe don't start with The Fabulous Frogman vs The Walrus from New Defenders #131.

I don't know that I'm denigrating superheroes there specifically -- I used to call it Superhero Candy Crush as a way to differentiate it from regular candy crush and that part just got worked in.
The "MPQ is serious business" crowd really don't like it when you compare MPQ to Candy Crush.

Join me my friends, let us talk about the game this website is set up for.It is obviously just because I am using him on a Juggs/Sam team but the loaner has been hitting for some decent damage with his powers with the strikes out which is probably making me overestimate his actual usefulness but I like him better than Sable already.

Feels like you want to spam those CDs. Maybe a friend of the Coulson/Carol team? Not that they really needed one.

The point of this Iron Man is super cheap/accelerated ability spam for relatively low damage, so you'll want someone who does something when a teammate casts a power. Coulson is the most obvious there. Maybe OML could be useful?

Are his strikes useful enough if you can't boost them, too? That's why my mind went Carol. Or are you talking his active red?

The strikes...he did get a buff relatively recently but I'm not sure. It's worth a try though.

Anyone have a beefy Drax? I'm looking at his purple passive.
Hobgoblin's blue also does damage when CDs expire.

Drax still isn't very good, even after the buff. Mine is 502 unboosted here:

There could be something with Hobgoblin though.

Only have him half-covered and he's already a ton of fun!

You could just go back to ol reliable Okoye or Apocalypse too. Flat-rate buffers have kind of been obsoleted in the era of super cheap high damage AoEs, but they always paired best with passive or cheap spammers and AP gen.

I guess if you start with enough to fire both, it's fine, and En Sabah Nur's red will start firing every turn in short order.
