Sick powerset. Looking forward to chasing him.

Quasar coming next!

I don’t expect to o get him to fully covered or leveled ever, but man the match damage those critical tiles will make is going to be crazy. If anyone really becomes a 6* player galactus will counter him though

I’d note also that if you spent hundreds on Galactus, and now Spidey has similar offer frequency and you spend hundreds again, you were/are spending hundreds to basically make some progress on a character you can’t use for about a year. Maybe more. So what the heck is up with that? It's meant for whales. To give them a jump ahead of the rest of the players. What else would they spend a grand a month on if not to get a bunch of shards to get a big head start on 6 stars.

Sore subject....but are we getting 6* Cosmic spider-man shard quests?

I thought they were expecting it to take 3-6 months to get covers for a 6 star. Galactus has been around for what? A month? This is nuts. This is what was announced. "Announcements" .... now that's nuts.

Just seen my first 1/1/1 Galactus in a Lightning Round, so it might take less time than originally thought.Mine is 0/1/1 with 70/600 shards. Strictly from pve, no offers purchased. I did however hit on all the Galactus shards that were in the vaults during the anniversary. Hope this helps as a timeline.

Y’all, they said the characters would release every 3-4 months (inaccurate obviously). But you’d get a cover a month.
“1. How do we get 6-star character shards or covers?
Beyond their higher rarity, 6-star characters in MPQ are designed to be true chase characters—powerful additions to a roster that aren’t meant to be easily obtained. Because new 6-stars will release every three to four months, the timeline to collect covers will generally follow that same pace. Players can expect to acquire their first cover within about a month of a character’s debut, depending on participation and event performance.”1 -

They’re releasing them more quickly at present for… reasons? Probably dilution so that not everyone is focusing a single 6star and covering it too quickly (in their eyes).
The current release schedule is definitely all part of their original 6 star plan that I read somewhere on the forums.1 -
Do ppl consider getting 300 shards of each cosmic spider man and galactus in a month as getting 1 cover? Or come January 200 shards of each 6* per month as getting 1 cover a month?
Me personally I don't.

Is there any reason we couldn’t have 6★ PVPs.
I would love to try out 6★s with one of each cover loaners.

Those might be some of the worst ability effects in the game. Also assuming that MCU Spidey is the costume based on the screenshot?"Convert 5 Web tiles into Critical tiles" Begs to differ.
And you should only assume there are multiple at effects going on with that power from the screenshot.
Are people just trying to be negative for the sake of making Debbie Downer seem optimistic at this point?
Ah I see the confusion. Not the power effect, the character effects that play when you fire the powers themselves. Very bland and just show the same character model shrunken or enlarged with some sparkles.
The powers themselves seem very powerful and usable even at a cover or two. He seems much more non-covered friendly than Galactus, especially when paired with pre-nerf Shang-Chi, 4a5 Chavez/Karnak, etc
So the character effects, not the abilities. Got it.
Can you explain why you'd personally put him with other critical tile creators over web tile creators? The latter would fuel the critical tile creation from Spidey himself, and seemingly be more effective. But maybe I'm missing something you're seeing.
At base he has fairly low match damage so a 550 Shang chi would do a lot more damage with the crit generation. Once Spidey has enough covers the be the one dealing the most damage and enough health, than absolutely web tile generators. Putting him with someone like Silk would be great for keeping him alive longer.

Each of his powers get stronger with more web tiles.
In my estimation, if you're going for more damage per individual crit, and 6spidey here doesn't do as much damage as Shang... You just shouldn't use 6spidey in that team.
If you're going to use 6spidey, more web tiles equals more crits, more extra damage from matching those web tiles, more damage reduction, etc, which may outweigh the increased damage you might see from a different character doing more damage from an individual crit...
Example, even if you do double the damage on 1 crit, but I'm using a full web tile team creating 4 times the crits, and doing extra damage and reducing damage to my team with those web tiles, the web focus will outperform any team using 6spidey that doesn't focus on web tiles.
Just my opinion from reading over the text for the abilities and needs gameplay to confirm.
Or I could just be wrong. I'll test it out sometime next year maybe.

Has anyone done the math? Assuming they do not add a way to pull for 6 star covers, how long would it take someone to fully cover a 6 star without paying for shards?
I love Cosmic Spidey, but it is hard to get excited since by the time I have a 6 star fully covered there will probably already be 20 more.

Looks like a lot of fun, will be happy to slowly accumulate—er, "chase"—over the course of 2026. Obvious 6★ favorite over sleepy Galactus.Rendering appears to be by same artist that wrecked Sable, and again has a somewhat compressed torso and slight spinal issue, but thanks to full face mask, another disaster was avoided.
Cover choice .... here's hoping for another last second swap 😆
Anyway, thanks to those involved for a bright spot as our elderly game begins its 13th year ... !
I'm not sure they have a single "staff artist" (among their other 20 duties) that can draw a human face left. Gorgon is the last legitimately good example I can come up with. Sam and Elsa are passable (looking like people that probably exist) but you can very plainly see the artistic shortcuts they took to make up for their poor ability. You might want to give a pass to Phyla until you notice the eye-energy effect literally splits her face down a line where the geometry no longer matches.
I can forgive some wonky anatomical difficulties (HELLO~~~~ Liefeld) but what are you doing drawing people if you can't make them look like them (or humans at all)?

Cosmic Wolverine coming next month! You may be joking, but Old Man Phoenix is an ideal blend of popular character at cosmic power levels that they SHOULD be utilizing.
IDGAF about Death or the other incarnations as playable characters really (unless they have killer ability sets), they've always been plot pieces before characters, but throw me some Last God Thor or King In Black Venom (Eddie Brock) or the like and they'll fuel my desire to keep chasing despite the rest of the game being a fricking mess.

Back of envelope and experience says in SCL 10 t50-100 you will get a bit more than a cover a month. So using that as a bar for varying placement you can end up at 13 covers in 13 months.
BUT we don’t truly know how or when wildcard shards will be implemented. Assuming each new one is the only one you can earn for 4 weeks and then they have wildcard in between after 3 releases, you’re probably looking at like 16-17 months to get 13 on one of the first ones. By that time there’ll be like 8-9 6s released so that’s 104-117 total covers for all of them.
Anyway maybe they’ll open the taps a little later on but it seems like we’ll be behind forever.

These powers look decidedly better than Galactus on paper, but I have no idea when in my lifetime I will have a fully covered 6 to really evaluate. I don’t love the art lately either - it is soft in a way that seems to be below what I consider the bar for a “professionally” done piece. The level of fidelity is all over the place across the game when it comes to detail, which as a player I don’t super love. It would be nice if there was a consistent look
