Strongest color match not registering

Today's Thunderbolts quest for me is mack 10 matches in the teams strongest color using Francine Frye. I've got her, 5* Sam Wilson, and 5* Captain America on my team. Sam's red damage is highest at 2605. I've played several missions now and made at least 5 red matches. None of them are registering for the goal. This is the second time this has happened in recent months. Is this a bug or am I missing something? This quest always worked in the past and usually only took me a few matches to complete. Do I need to do these in versus?
