So long as there was no damage to your team that you were practicing with.

Just have dummy AIs, no moves and no passive. Really high health which heals back to full every turn. 
No way to win or lose, have to exit the battle (the health lost from the retreat can be treated as fatigue from the session).

I somehow completely overlooked your post. In keeping with the Marvel/X-Men "theme", I called it a Danger Room:
