Rejoining alliance - time limits

Does anyone know the time limit between a user who has left an alliance and is trying to rejoin, whether the user left on his own, or if he was kicked out?

I did a search and saw someone say the limit was one hour - but maybe this has changed, because it has been more than 20 hours and I'm still unable to rejoin.

If you got kicked, you'll have to wait 24 hours. Otherwise it's 15 minutes, I think.
