The idea is that Namor strikes down his foe, and he's sure in his power. So sure that he allows the remaining opposition a boon such that they may actually provide a meager challenge to himself. It won't matter in the long run, of course. But Namor will allow the mercy of hope to his hopelessly outclassed opponents.

It's just unfortunate that one of his opponents happens to be America Chavez who punches him into next week with the bonus power he handed out, but eh. That's what you get for being a merciful king.
