Hulkbuster and Friends

So I've finally reached the point where I've maxed all the 3* that I can really max and now I'm pumping all my iso into IMHB. (Still have a bunch that are way too under-leveled, so I'm not gonna waste iso on them anymore) Seeing how he'll be my only 4*, what 3* characters pair well with him? I know IF making blacks for him is almost a most but who's a good third?

    Fistbuster covers all colors except yellow, so anyone with a strong yellow makes a strong third. Luke Cage and Hood are the ones that come to mind immediately.

    Right on. I forget Fist uses greentile.png sometimes. I was leaning towards Cage too. Thanks for the tip.

    Reality is there is no need for third. Hulkbuster and Fist are your team. If you can add Luke for his yellow, bit of protection and occasional black - good for you (but that is Simulator only). In regular PvP - they take you good places regardless of the third.

    And for PvE Fistbuster combo is not great - too many health packs could go to waste. But you can try them there as well.

    Side note - Hood is decent option for his acceleration. Or even Thor for his yellow/green.

    I'd rank for a third (3*) to fistbuster:

    1) hood
    2) cyke
    3) cage
    4) thor or panther or im40 (not sure about the best order there -im40 will overload you and you can one shot just about anyone, panther gives nice strikes and thor green/cascades)

    This is a good list, but maybe not for the reasons you think. As Magic suggests - your team is FistBuster - you use purple to make black to make red, and blue to make red in a pinch. You should never be doing anything to actively collect yellow AP with FistBuster. Hood is good because he steals AP making your FistBuster faster. Cyke is good because his yellow creates more red. Cage is good becuase he reduces match damage. Thor IMO would not be good, but BP works really well with IF, but is really an alternate for IMHB, I think SWitch would be a better 3rd. IM40 would be superb.......but you can't use Ironman twice so he won't pair with IMHB.

    dangit why can't I remember than im40 and hb can't be teamed together. that gets me every time here on the forums.

    and doh on switch. yeah, she's right up there with hood for them. totally overlooked her.

    I was trying to figure out what all the buzz is about IM40. I used him a bit during his event and though "man, he would really pair well with a strong red/blue user.....I'll use him with IMHB!!!" Yeah, you can't. He works well with 4Cyke, but......Cyke's yellow works well as well and it just feels redundant. He works well with 4Thor, but even with that acceleration I don't find her to be all that scary (and I only have her at 166). I think the best 4* to use him with is really Iceman, but personally I just can't bring myself to spend the ISO to champ him from Lvl 40 when I have other 4*s that need ISO. I think if you had him at 120 or so pre-buff, and have a maxed 4Thor then it makes sense to add a champed IM40, but with my champs (IMHB, Iceman, Rulk, JG, Cyke, XFW, XPool) it doesn't make sense. He would be decent with XPool or XPool/XFW, but I dunno. Maybe some day when ISO flows more freely........

    Actually, IM40 works wonderfully with Rulk and XPool. He feeds Rulk for the big green AOE and he feeds Xpool for his Red slice & heal. Then whoever is left gets taken out two turns later by IM40 blue. It's really easy peasy once you get the IM40 battery going.
    IM40 has eclipsed Switch and Hood as my favorite 3* support character.

    I agree that IM40 is the best support but he still needs a favorable board (or boost) to get it going fast.

    As for Fistbuster - Switch is great (i have overlooked her but I use the trio often) - her passive feeds both Blue and Purple and can occasionaly use green to add more of the colour you need. So 3-5-5 build would be great.
