Give us all PWs in the store, don't be jerks. I realize now why dakkon hasn't been in the store in at least 6 months.

Regarding the changes to MT and Titan Vanguard, I honestly felt upset.

The thing is, there’s an event called FtD where you have to clear it in 5 rounds. So I have a personal question for you:
Show us how to clear it in 5 rounds without using MT, Titan Vanguard, or TtD.

How? If you don’t show it, then I can prove that it’s impossible to clear it in 5 rounds without MT and TtD. Many people will try, but in the end they’ll only be able to clear it in 10 rounds.

You can conclude that they’ve basically broken everything, including the most important and key cards!
I worked hard to get the card and was satisfied for a while.

    And now, as a result:
MT costs 12 mana, and it gives you 2 cards to choose from and 15 mana… This can’t even be considered Masterpiece level — more like a mythic or even lower!!!
TtD — the problem isn’t the conversion amount, it’s that it SHOULD NOT REPEAT. I’ve seen it with Kasmina and Grist; it keeps repeating in cycles as if they have a 100% success rate. I saw it in Planar Chaos. And that’s why I’ve asked many times — REMOVE SUCH DECKS FROM THEM AND MAKE THEM NORMAL, so that players can progress properly instead of instantly losing to something like Greg — Grist and Kasmina!

Desert — this is a huge insult! Now this card is no longer a masterpiece. Understand, there’s nothing left to protect yourself from creatures with 15–20 power and higher. It helped me all this time. But now, thank you very much, because the Desert card is no longer a Masterpiece, but TRASH of RARE level.

So Dakkon indeed never showed up in the store for at least 6 months? Geez. No wonder then.
I'm a new player who just played this game for around 8-9 months. I follow Madwren's PW tier list and I have saved crystals to get the high-tier PWs. I thought perhaps I missed Dakkon once due to insufficient crystals but perhaps not eh.
Apparently the dev deliberately did it to do this cash grab move during the holiday season lol. Well, I'm just a casual player for now so I don't plan to spend a lot of money in this game, especially after this wave of balance changes.
I mean I don't have tons of money to spare for gaming.
If the dev can't give me confidence that my investment in this game will worth it and I can enjoy my investment without being ruined by their moves, why should I invest lots of money in this game? lol.
I'm still in Gold atm. But well I guess I will have to accept that I will be in hell when I reach Platinum. ^^

Seriously, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
The Ocelot change is understandable because it was broken, but the rest of the changes are completely unnecessary!
Please consider fixing the overcorrections. Thank you.

I have been playing for a year and a half. From the list of cards you have nerfed, I only use 2 or 3. My next goal was to obtain "Mystical Teachings", but now I don't know which card to aim for. Besides, I won't spend resources on any card if after some time you lower its stats and make it useless.

Logically, I agree with these changes. Emotionally, it Burns when thinking about the time/money/energy spent seeking the gross power these cards afforded.

I do hope there is some balance for the hp of enemies in events where time is a factor. The power of these cards did turn frustration to fun and I would hate to lose that.

Show us how to clear it in 5 rounds without using MT, Titan Vanguard, or TtD.

Pajani: Assemble the Players, Moonshaker Cavalry, Elspeth VG, Banner of Kinship, Double Strike (2nd Ability)
Grandmaster of Flowers: Token Creature generators + Conversion to get to Ult (or Golden Wish)

Some draw luck needed to get 5 rounds or under, but either of those have been reliably in the 4-7 round range in Planar Chaos. And there are multiple others that can probably get the job done - that's the deckbuilding "puzzle" for Puzzle Quest. EDIT: Shout out to the Reddit page, there are several other versions that have worked for folks, including one with only Rare and lower cards. Plus they mention help is available from the Discord channel(s).

Also, why play FtD if you already have all of those nerfed cards? The only prizes are two packs of TDM, which if you have that kind of collection are likely just dupes. If you're worried about wasting your time in this game, that event is probably among the first to pass on.

An ineffective loop timer that doesn't actually cut Greg off and prevent players from losing to solipsistic combo decks.

I've never taken the loop timer to be a way to prevent players from losing to loops. If Greg is able to pull off a loop/combo, you should lose. I've taken the loop timer as a technical failsafe to prevent the game from entering a state where you have to exit completely in order to get the game to function, and was more straightforward to program than trying to preventatively code for every unforeseen combo interaction. Whether the loop should exist is a gameplay question independent of how the timer works.

Thanks for taking the time to elaborate why you were making the changes, next time it might be better to lead with that to avoid the suspense and panic.
I'm not happy with some of the changes, but if it means I don't have to sit for 30 minutes for my next turn as my opponent loops to victory, then I can see an argument for this. I'm also glad to see that some of the weaker cards on the list got a boost.

I've noticed that the top 3 played multicolor walkers are on sale right now for $80. I hope your plans never include nerfing cards or planeswalkers that you made specific sale offers on, because that would be super shady business.

Please consider, in future card creation, making cards that are good but don't either lock the game down or play into loops. Let's keep the nerfing to as minimal as possible.

    Yo webcore...

I made up a **** response for you so you can copy and paste to save you some time.

And to the players, here is our imminent response to all this:

    Dear Puzzle Quest Community,

We at Webcore want to start by extending our deepest appreciation to each and every one of you—our dedicated players, from the newcomers discovering the magic of our world to the veterans who've been with us through countless adventures. Your passion, feedback, and unwavering support are the lifeblood of Magic: The Gathering Puzzle Quest, and we truly value the time, energy, and resources you've invested in building your collections and mastering the game. We've been closely monitoring the discussions on our forums, social channels, and beyond, and we hear you loud and clear.

The recent balance adjustments and updates to our holiday promotions have sparked strong reactions, and we recognize the frustration and disappointment many of you are feeling. Rest assured, your voices matter to us, and we're committed to fostering a vibrant, inclusive community where everyone can thrive.

That said, let's take a moment to address these changes head-on, as transparency is a core pillar of our approach. Our balance updates were carefully considered and data-driven, aimed at creating a more equitable and engaging experience for players at all levels. In a dynamic game like ours, where innovation and strategy evolve constantly, occasional adjustments are essential to prevent any single card or strategy from overshadowing the diverse meta we all enjoy. While we understand that these tweaks may impact beloved decks and hard-earned acquisitions, they ultimately promote long-term health and replayability, ensuring that new players aren't discouraged and that the game remains fresh and competitive for everyone.

We're confident that, over time, these refinements will open up exciting new deck-building opportunities and keep the puzzle-solving spirit alive and well.

Regarding the holiday sale, we're excited about the refreshed lineup we've curated this year, designed to highlight a broader array of content and provide value across the board. By bundling premium planeswalkers into a dedicated offering, we're able to deliver enhanced exclusivity and rewards for those seeking the pinnacle of power. This structure allows us to sustain high-quality development and introduce even more innovative features in the future, all while maintaining accessibility through in-game progression paths.

We believe this evolution aligns with our vision of a sustainable ecosystem that rewards dedication without compromising on fun or fairness.
We know change can be challenging, but we're optimistic about the road ahead and are already exploring ways to incorporate community insights into upcoming updates.

In the meantime, we encourage you to dive back in, experiment with the evolving meta, and share your constructive thoughts—we're listening. Together, we'll continue to make Magic: The Gathering Puzzle Quest the ultimate destination for strategic mastery and magical thrills.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Let's keep the quests going!

I'm happy with all the changes I looked at. Some cards made winning too easy, and now that's fixed. Winning should happen more because of good decks and good play than from having a good card.

    A few comments:

    • Cryptex: This is the best change. Finally I get to consider other gem conversion supports that were all obsolete because of Cryptex.
    • Assimilation Aegis: Certainly a good nerf for a panic-inducing card. I'm still scared of it, but considering that 1 shield Suppression Bonds is easily my most quickly destroyed card, I expect the same to be the case for Aegis.
    • Titans' Vanguard: Probably unplayable now, which is sad, but it was way too strong before. Then again, it was so strong that I didn't play it in PVP. It killed too fast! Not sure what I'll use on those 500 HP PVEs though.

I support almost all of these changes, with the only exception being Mystical Teachings. For being a Masterpiece, it absolutely must net you more than +3 mana. 3 mana is what any planeswalker with a neutral mana bonus gets on a 3-swap. Hello? lol

To echo what Nalthazar said above, I would appreciate seeing changes made, and communicated(!), more frequently. I think you hit almost everything else on the head, more or less. Although, I do still think Grist needs a nerf to her abilities, which you could accomplish in any number of ways; she's just too efficient with milling, reanimation, support removal, token creation, and life drain, (edit: and graveyard removal) all without any cards! Even with Valgavoth available now, I still get stomped with Grist regularly. Otherwise, I again agree with Nalthazar and would like to see the less popular planeswalkers embiggened.
