I was using "turn" as "move the board." Turn 0 is before you move the board at all, turn 1 is after moving it once, etc.

Totally. It simply comes down to how one is using "turn 0". If turn 0 includes all of the actions that happen in the first two phases of turn 1, then the DevP-Thanos-Grocket combo is turn 0. If turn 0 is limited to wins occurring during the power phase, then DP-T-G wins prior to that phase, this turn -1. Since it does not take any action on the player's part, I'm further inclined to label it turn -1.

Boosted baby Hobgoblin, New Cap and 4* Juggernaut make pretty sweet music together for those looking for a team to run Hobgoblin with.

    Who is New Cap?

    Worthy? Beardcap?

    Hydra smasher?

    Oh. 5* Sam?

    Too many Caps

Oh please, Cap would never smash Hydra, that is for Hulk, he is a stomper!

Shouldn't this work with Kang, and then you can use surplus blue to away some opponents?

Seems there might be a bug. https://forums.d3go.com/discussion/91677/kangs-cosmic-tactician-3-or-5-passive-not-working-with-coulson-hobgoblin#latest

Not sure if this was patched or something, but the combo with Kang was working properly when I ran it today.

hmm. Still not working for me. With 3 or 5 star Kang. Coulson occasionally generates blue with the random ap gain, but Kang should be generating only blue.

Kang does generate the blue is the countdowns expire at the start of turn, but not when Hobgoblin triggers them.

Triggering the countdowns manually with 4 Carol works with Kang, though.

    He smashes and he stomps
    He jumps on their heads
    He hates the Hydras

"Cut off one head and two more take their place!"

    He sighs
    He smashes with his feet
Who can tell him he can't?

    Their heads go squish

If I have a 550 Kang, why would I ever use Hobby over Jonathan Majors?

Time to eat some of my words. One advantage Hobby has over Kang is that Kang's Blue requires basic Blue tiles on the board. Hobby's Blue costs 3AP fewer, and only requires your own Countdowns or Repeaters. Unlike Coulson's Blue, the damage also procs on friendly Repeaters. So in that sense he has better synergy with the other Countdown and Repeater uses.

I thought he'd just be a reskinned Green Goblin, but - to echo some of the other posters - when using him to get the 750 sharts, he was more fun than I thought. In terms of partners, besides the usual suspects, I'm wondering if Hobby has made Abigail great again heh. He'll also work well with Iceman

Poor Abigail -- I always think she'd be cool in some CD team, but her passive payoffs are just so bad.

Go back and look. When a CD goes off she destroys 1 random enemy AP and gives you a weak team burst heal. It's just not useful at all. Do damage, buff a tile, generate AP, all of those are great.

Yes she's very underwhelming. Her Purple and Blue (both active and passive) are just bad. Her Yellow heal might get annoying, as it can proc thrice a turn. But she's just one of many desperately in need of a buff.

I just like that Hobby makes so many Repeater users better. Magik immediately comes to mind. Even Gambit is a good partner, because Remy's Purple is superior to Roderick's, and Hobby's Blue speeds up Gambit's AP generation. And that's not including the myriad 4a5 countdown/repeater characters.

I've been running him with Ronan and 5* Hawkeye (not sure he is the optimal 3rd here, but need some blue). Get Ronan's blue out, then spend all your blue through Hobgoblin to force the repeaters to propogate quickly.

It was useful in the beginning. She was underrated. But she's certainly very dead now.

I don’t know, I think she got rated pretty accurately from the jump. She was DOA

Yeah I don't ever remember her being useful for anything. I went back and looked -- she was released in January 2022, when we were in the Scarlet Witch/Colossus metagame. m'Thor and Chasm would show up 7 and 8 months later, respectively.

That sounds like a fun team. During the recent last Ronans boost week I was reminded how out of hand his blue power can get when it gets going. Having someone who can accelerate his tiles would make it work a lot quicker.

I used her in Simulator quite a bit. She wasn't meta or anything, but she was definitely usable.

You are a better person than I. There was no use for her when she arrived as far as I played. Not usable at all.

I remember seeing her occasionally is Sim with a team of Abigail, Crystal, someone who spams countdowns. Wasn't difficult, just an annoying troll team with all the healing that would be goin on.
